Weightlessness is set in a speculative future of space exploration. A young astronaut is sent to a distant planet whose gravity is so weak that orientation, perception and bodily memory begin to fail. Familiar earthly knowledge no longer functions. Space and time distort, images lose stability, and the environment resists interpretation.

As the mission unfolds, the astronaut’s sense of agency erodes. She begins to feel observed, measured, and displaced, as if her presence serves a purpose she cannot access. An octopus-like entity appears less as a creature than as a structural force, while an elderly figure follows her across spaces, blurring the line between guide, witness and projection.

The film approaches subjectivity as something produced through dislocation rather than mastery. Drawing loosely on psychoanalytic thought, it asks whether the self can remain intact when removed from the symbolic frameworks that once sustained it. Weightlessness treats alien space not as an external threat, but as a condition that exposes how fragile the idea of a unified subject may be.
